Ex-Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice is currently waiting for the outcome of the BBC’s internal investigation into his treatment of Amanda Abbington.
Giovanni Pernice has joined forces with Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse in an exciting new project as the scandal surrounding Strictly Come Dancing continues.
The BBC show has been mired in drama since Giovanni was suspended after Amanda Abbington accused him of abusive and threatening behavior, which Giovanni denies.
Since his name wasn’t included in the 2024 line-up of Strictly, the 33-year-old has been focusing on other aspects of his career, from touring with Anton Du Beke to providing dance lessons.
He is set to run Ballando dance classes once again, but this time, with the help of Craig and Motsi. Fans can learn to jive with Giovanni, charleston with Craig and cha cha cha with Motsi.
The news was shared on the Ballando Instagram page alongside the caption: “We’ll be spending the afternoon swivelling, lock stepping and drunken sailor-ing as these pro’s put everyone through their paces!
“Book one, two, or all three classes … You don’t have to have dance experience to come along – just a love of dance, and willingness to get stuck in and give it a go!”
The class will take place on September 29 at ISH Venue in London. The sessions will last for one hour, with Craig kicking them off at 1pm. Motsi, 43, will follow her co-star at 2:30pm before Giovanni concludes the class at 5:00pm.
It comes after Amanda sat down for her first live interview since she made the allegations against Giovanni. The Sherlock actress, 50, claimed she texted producers to say “this is awful” and that Giovanni “hated” her just three days into their training sessions.
Speaking to Christine Lampard, who was hosting Lorraine, the mum-of-two said: “It was inappropriate, it was mean, it was nasty, it was bullying and I put up with it for five, six weeks. It started very early on and when it started to happen I would shut down because I recognised those red flags.”
She added: “And so I would shut down and it would be difficult to get in, and that would be a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
However, a spokesperson for Giovanni slammed the allegations and said in a statement: “We would urge people to wait for the review’s conclusion and not to pay heed to these very serious and defamatory allegations that have no evidence in support of them.”
