Ben Affleck is ‘happy’ as he is slowly moving into his new home in a neighborhood he loves as his divorce from Jennifer Lopez proceeds according to a new report.
The 52-year-old actor – who recently received takeout at his new property – has been doing well amid his legal separation from the 55-year-old fellow A-lister.
A source for People told the publication on Monday that ben is ‘doing well’ and ‘slowly moving into his new home’ while moving trucks were recently seen at the marital home he shares with JLo.
The insider explained: ‘He’s where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves.
‘He enjoys working too, and is very focused on the positives.’
His ex Jennifer also seems to be doing well all things considered as a source told the weekly that ‘she still feels very fortunate’ despite feeling ‘some bitterness; about the split.
The insider said: ‘She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben. She’s surrounded by family, friends and her kids.
‘She always manages to have a positive outlook. The divorce is difficult for her, but she always finds a way to move forward.’
Last week, a U-Haul truck was spotted parked outside divorcing couple’s marital megamansion in Beverly Hills on Thursday amid reports she no longer ‘feels comfortable living there.’
The couple formerly known as ‘Bennifer’ – who legally separated April 26 – originally paid $60.85M in May 2023 for the double-gated, 12-bedroom, and 24-bathroom Crestview Manor property, which is perched atop a five-acre promontory.
There was also a curious red pick-up truck loaded with cardboard boxes parked outside the recently-renovated home, which spans 46K square feet under roof and 38K square feet under air conditioning.
The 55-year-old pop diva and her 52-year-old estranged fourth husband – who reportedly have a $20M mortgage – hired The Agency realtor Santiago Arana in May to quietly unload it off market, before it was publicly listed on MLS for an eye-popping $68M on July 11.
There are still no buyers for ‘The Crown Jewel of Wallingford’ which boasts a stunning zero-edge pool, 12-car garage, basketball and pickleball courts, a fully-equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, and a bar.
Aside from the lavish main residence, the property comes with a 5K-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker house, and a two-bedroom guard house.
‘She and Ben bought the house for the whole [blended] family,’ an insider told People on Wednesday.
‘It’s way too big for her and filled with too many memories as well.’
Jennifer has been house hunting as far back as May to no avail while Ben closed escrow on his $20.5M five-bedroom, six-bathroom Brentwood mansion on July 24, which just so happened to be her birthday.
On August 20, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in LA County Superior Court on what would’ve been the second anniversary of their wedding at his $8.9M, 87-acre property on the Hampton Island Preserve in Georgia.
The two-time Grammy nominee and the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker reportedly did not sign a prenuptial agreement, so everything they earned during the marriage is community property.
Jennifer and Ben originally met on the LA set of Martin Brest’s box office bomb Gigli in 2001, abruptly split three days before their wedding in 2004, and began surreptitiously texting each other again in February 2021 – two months before she ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez.
And while Lopez and producer Matt Damon plan on attending the world premiere of Unstoppable happening September 6 at Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival, Affleck is skipping it – according to People.
The Atlas producer-star portrays Judy Robles, the real-life mother of disabled wrestling champ Anthony Robles, in William Goldenberg’s biopic hitting select theaters this December.
The Air director-actor also produced Bill Condon’s upcoming remake of Kiss of the Spider Woman starring Jennifer as three different characters Leni Lamaison, Marta, and Spider Woman.
