KERRY Katona has opened up about her friendship with Katie Price amid the former glamour model’s financial and legal woes.
Double bankrupt Katie, 46, was arrested last month after skipping a court appearance to jet to Turkey for a £10k facelift.
Now Kerry, 43 – who met Katie when they took part in I’m a Celebrity in 2004 – has praised her pal her for navigating the ongoing drama in her life.
She said: “I know what a great headspace she’s in and I want people to see how well she’s doing. She’s been through a lot but I’m really proud of where she’s at right now – I don’t know how she does it.”
Katie and Kerry are set to play the ugly stepsisters in a Cinderella pantomime later this year.
Speaking of their new job together, Kerry told OK! Magazine: “I’m seeing Katie soon for a press day for our Christmas panto together with AB Productions and I can’t wait!
“It will be good to have a proper catch-up. I can’t wait to work with her, too.
“Katie and I stay in touch over the phone but we haven’t seen each other since New Year so it’s exciting.”
Kerry and Katie became so close during their jungle stint that the former Atomic Kitten star was a bridesmaid at her wedding to Peter Andre in 2005.
And Kerry may find herself taking on the role at another one of Katie’s wedding as she and boyfriend JJ Slater recently sparked engagement rumours.
As the couple soaked up the sun in Turkey she was seen rocking a huge diamond ring.
Katie and JJ later fuelled the rumours when they were seen shopping for wedding dresses.
Meanwhile Katie put on a show in a skin-tight lace catsuit as she took to the stage at Manchester Pride over the weekend.
The mum-of-five was in high spirits as she celebrated this weekend’s pride festivities.
Katie wore Givenchy-style silver boots as she belted out tracks on stage in front of a packed audience.
