Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were brutally savaged by a royal commentator who claimed their latest interview showed a total “lack of concern” for the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared on CBS’s Sunday Morning, where they announced their new project – The Parents Network
– which aims to tackle child safety online and connect families who have lost their children to suicide due to a lack of safeguarding online.
During the interview, Meghan revealed she “only scratched the surface” of speaking about her mental health in her now-infamous interview
with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and added she hopes “being open” about her own suicidal thoughts and “online bullying” can “save others”.
Now royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said that Meghan’s comment “only scratching the surface” is a “veiled threat” to the Royal Family
and blasted the couple over their latest appearance as they showed a lack of “awareness and concern” for the mental health of their own family members, especially the Princess of Wales’s.
She told TalkTV: “[The line that Meghan’s only scratched the surface] sounds like a veiled threat to the Royal Family about what she could say going forward about her time [in the Firm]. I think Harry and Meghan not only lack credibility in this particular topic, I think they lack self-awareness. Where is their concern for the family’s mental health? Catherine’s? When Omid Scobie [targeted her in his book Endgame]?”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again found themselves at the center of controversy after their recent appearance on CBS’s Sunday Morning. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke about their new project, The Parents Network, which focuses on child safety online and supporting families who have experienced the tragic loss of a child to suicide as a result of online dangers.During the interview, Meghan shared that she feels she has “only scratched the surface” when it comes to discussing her struggles with mental health, particularly in reference to her previous interview with Oprah Winfrey. She expressed her hope that by being open about her own battles with suicidal thoughts and online harassment, she can help others who may be facing similar challenges. However, not everyone was impressed with the couple’s latest media appearance. Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield criticized Meghan’s comment about “only scratching the surface” as a possible veiled threat towards the Royal Family. Schofield suggested that Harry and Meghan displayed a lack of awareness and concern for the mental health of their own family members, specifically highlighting concerns for the well-being of the Princess of Wales.Schofield went on to question the credibility and self-awareness of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, pointing out what she perceived to be a lack of consideration for the mental health of other members of the royal family, including Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She also raised concerns over the couple’s response to allegations made against Catherine in Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame.”As discussions around mental health and well-being continue to evolve, it is important for all individuals, including public figures like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to approach these topics with sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
